Managing Sources and Citations with Zotero for Work and for Life Online

Zotero is an intuitive, free, open source "citation management" application that makes it possible to create collections of sources (books, videos, podcasts, documents, images, and more) for all kinds of research purposes.
For work/school, Zotero automatically formats and inserts footnotes and bibliographies in research papers (and makes it easy to search for and take notes on your sources). For life, you can create organized collections of instructional videos and tutorials for a favorite hobby, keep annotated reading logs, and more. By the end of this session, participants will have created their own Zotero accounts and their first "collection."
To get the most out of this workshop, in-person participants should bring a laptop.

Margarita Nafpaktitis
As the Slavic and East European collections librarian, the geographic scope of the collections I curate includes Poland, Russia, Ukraine and many other countries in East Central and Southeastern Europe. I select materials for research and instruction published in and about these regions in new and old formats, in subject areas including literature and linguistics, cultural studies, history, and social sciences. I also consult and collaborate with students and faculty to help them find the materials that they need for their research and their teaching.
