Accessibility Skills for Library Professionals Online

Lead Instructor: Danielle Noble (Evening Librarian)

  • Location: Online via Zoom (limited to 25 registrants)
  • Date and Time: 4:00PM–5:00PM, Thursday, July 16, 2026

A 45-minute session led by Danielle Noble for Stanford Libraries staff, all about leveling up from "good enough" captions to genuinely accessible ones.

The workshop will be Equal parts myth-busting and how-to. You'll find out why auto-captions get things wrong 7x more often than humans do, why "burned-in" captions are basically the accessibility equivalent of writing on a wall in invisible ink, and why your colleagues who are deaf, hard of hearing, or non-native English speakers genuinely cannot follow your videos.
